The Office for Disability is the first of its kind in Australia and leads the Victorian Government's drive for universal change to improve the lives of people with a disability.
Our office was set up in 2006 to put disability on the agenda across the Victorian Government.
We aim to improve the lives of people with a disability by working with private and public sector partners to promote inclusion and improve community attitudes and behaviour.
We consulted with people with a disability to develop the Absolutely everyone state disability plan 2017-2020 for the whole of the Victorian Government.
The plan commits us to actions to prioritise inclusive communities by increasing access to affordable housing, public transport, schools and jobs. We want to ensure people with a disability can make the most of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and address barriers to participation. See the NDIS website.
