The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking feedback on its draft Disability Action Plan for 2018 to 2020.

The Plan outlines the department’s commitment to enhance the health and wellbeing of people with disability, and includes actions to help make DHHS services, programs and workplaces more inclusive and accessible.

It covers four themes aligned to the department’s outcomes framework, with actions for both staff and people who access the department’s services:

  • Victorians are connected to culture and community
  • Victorians are healthy and well
  • Victorians are safe and secure
  • Victorians have the capabilities to participate

The department has worked closely with staff and people with disability to develop the draft plan, and is now consulting with the wider community to see if it includes the right priorities and actions to lead the way in achieving greater inclusion.

Feedback can be provided on the overall draft plan, or particular themes or actions.

The consultation period closes on 18 July. The department will then consider all responses to finalise the plan for release around August this year.

The department will also report back on how feedback has been incorporated in a summary report.
