The Victorian Government has launched a new 10 year strategic plan for Aboriginal health, safety and wellbeing.
Korin Korin Balit-Djak outlines a new way of delivering services that better meet the cultural needs and aspirations of Aboriginal communities for better health, wellbeing and safety. This includes putting self-determination front and centre in Victoria’s health and human services.
Korin Korin Balit-Djak was developed through extensive consultation with Aboriginal communities.
Korin Korin Balit-Djak is structured around five focus areas:
Aboriginal community leadership
Prioritising Aboriginal culture and community
System reform across the health and human services sector
Safe, secure, strong families and individuals
Physically, socially and emotionally healthy Aboriginal communities.
