Coronavirus (COVID‑19) updates
07 April 2020
Victoria's Chief Health Officer, Doctor Brett Sutton, has issued new directions to take effect from midnight 7 April 2020. The new directions include changes to restricted activities, stay at home provisions for childcare and measures to include access restrictions to additional residential care services.
Children in Victorian government schools will move to remote and flexible learning and care at the commencement of term 2. To slow the spread of coronavirus, from the start of the term all students who can learn from home must learn from home.
The total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Victoria is 1191 – an increase of 33 from yesterday.
Chief Health Officer update
All passengers returning to Australia will be fully supported and well cared for. We ask that families do not go to the airport or visit hotels.
Emergency relief packages are available to Victorians with no access to food and essential supplies. Packages are for people who are in mandatory self-quarantine with no family and friends to support them.
Actions that you can take to help reduce the risk of infection and slow the spread of coronavirus in the Victorian community.
