Victoria has recorded no new cases of coronavirus since yesterday, and there are no cases currently active and no new deaths.
This is the 25th straight day where Victoria has recorded zero daily new cases.
Victoria’s final active case was cleared by the Expert Review Panel yesterday afternoon and was discharged from hospital. There are now no cases of coronavirus in Victorian hospitals.
A total of 3,514,833 test results have been received which is an increase of 9,960 since yesterday.
Late yesterday DHHS was notified of a weak positive test result in a woman who had previously tested positive in hotel quarantine, having returned from overseas. This case has no newly identified links to known coronavirus cases or exposure sites.
The Expert Review Panel has found this case is a persistent shedder. The case is isolating due to an abundance of caution while further precautionary test results are followed up.
The Victorian Government will continue to monitor the situation in South Australia and will continue to be guided by the health advice.
A permit is now required to enter Victoria from South Australia unless an exemption applies. Permits are available from the Service Victoria website.
People who live in the previously established 70km cross-border bubble between Victoria and South Australia will not require a new permit, but they will be required to use existing permits from the South Australian Government, or their drivers licence to cross the border.
Those receiving or providing emergency medical care, providing or receiving emergency services or residing on a property that extends across both South Australia and Victoria will be exempt from the requirement for a permit.
People who have visited a SA high risk exposure site will not be allowed to visit Victoria unless an exemption is granted by the Victorian Chief Health Officer. People may make an application for an exemption.
Victoria Police will monitor and enforce the permit system through spot checks and DHHS Authorised Officers will meet flights at airports.
In response to the South Australian outbreak, interstate truck drivers travelling to Victoria from South Australia are being asked to get tested.
Testing sites have been stood up at Nhill, Dartmoor, Edenhope, Murrayville and Merbein South at the Community Recreation Hall. The testing site at Nelson has been closed.
Fragments of coronavirus were detected in two of three samples of wastewater taken in Benalla last week. They were also detected in one of three samples taken in both Altona and Portland.
Increased testing of residents and visitors in these locations in recent days has not revealed anyone with the virus.
The location of local testing sites is on the DHHS website and all people with even the mildest symptoms are encouraged to get tested.
Information regarding COVID-19 is available at the Department of Health and Human Services website or by calling 1800 675 398. Testing site details are available at the Where to get tested page.
More information is available on the DHHS website.
