The Victorian Government is calling for expressions of interest to develop and operate a not-for-profit aged care facility for the Chinese community in Springvale South.
The Victorian Government committed to providing $2.5 million for a site for a not-for-profit residential aged care facility to meet the needs of Victoria’s Chinese community. With the funding allocated, the government has secured a site for the facility on approximately 5,000 square metres of land at Coomoora Road, Springvale South.
Interested parties are invited to express an interest in constructing and operating the new facility.
The expression of interest process is open to existing or formative not-for-profit organisations within the Chinese community. This may include Chinese community organisations alone or in partnership with recognised aged care providers or other suitable organisations. This may also include a for-profit equity partner. Interested organisations or consortia will need to demonstrate their strong engagement with the diverse elements of the Chinese community.
The department consulted with Chinese community members earlier this year, in collaboration with the Victorian Multicultural Commission, to get the community’s views and preferences on the new facility.
The expression of interest process opens on 27 October 2017.
The closing date for lodging an expression of interest is 21 December 2017.
An information session for interested parties will be held on 16 November at 11.00am at the Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre, Chamber Room, 39 Clow Street, Dandenong. Please RSVP to ChineseAgedCare@dhhs.vic.gov.au by Friday 10 November.
