We are committed to developing and supporting a workforce that is well equipped and highly motivated to provide responsive and quality services to all Victorians.

Our work is both rewarding and challenging.

We are passionate about what we do and are committed to supporting our vision for all Victorians to be healthy, safe and lead a life they value.

The work we do benefits thousands of Victorians, particularly those who are disadvantaged and vulnerable.

We work in a variety of community-based settings, including people's homes, residential facilities and secure settings across metropolitan, rural and regional Victoria.

Our people strategy, People strategy 2020+, outlines our 3-year approach to building a vibrant and successful health and human services workforce across Victoria.

Working with our partners, we:

  • Support people in crisis and help families get their lives back on track
  • Work with families, individuals, young people and communities to improve health and wellbeing, building capability and resilience and supporting participation in work, education and the community
  • Oversee Victoria’s health system including mental health, ageing and aged care and preventive health.

We are building an inclusive workplace that embraces diversity of backgrounds and differences to realise the potential of our employees for innovation and delivering services aimed at enhancing the lives of vulnerable Victorians.

All jobs can be worked flexibly and we encourage job applications from Aboriginal people, people with disabilities - see the Disability employment strategy 2018-2020 - LGBTI and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
